Introduction
It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers...Ephesians 4.1l
Our church leaders, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are God's gifts to His church. Their spiritual and physical well being are crucial to the very fabric of our churches. The book of Timothy exhorts us to make intercession for all who are in authority. Hence, there is the urgent need to pray for our leaders and to express our practical love and care for their encouragement. The nature of their calling puts them at the forefront of the spiritual battle that rages.
The enemy's strategy of smiting the shepherd and scattering the sheep is still very much the same today. It is a well known fact that many occult groups are involved in 'prayers' for the downfall of Christian leaders. This has laid a burden on us to intercede for God's servants. However, the question still stares us in theface: Who cares for the carers (in the church)?
The vision of The Prayer Trust is to
-
create awareness amongst the people of God, of the urgent need to pray for church leaders.
-
To teach, organise and encourage fervent prayer for church leaders;
-
to encourage practical love and support for God's servants working tirelessly in His vineyard.
Aims & Objectives

To identify, encourage and train those who have specific gifts of personal, intercession, who will stand in the gap for leaders in the body of Christ.

|
* |
To pray for leaders and encourage them in their prayer life. |
* |
To teach and encourage the saints on the practical love, care and appreciation towards God's servants.
|

What is our commitment?
Our committment is to support every God's servant in London through fervent and effective Prayer of the saints.
Our goals and strategies?
-
To mobilise intercession to cover every borough of London
-
Twenty four hours everyday of the week
-
That is, 168 praying Christians in a borough ,committing themselves to one hour of prayer every week.
-
By this, the whole borough, the church and church leaders will be continuously prayed for.
To achieve this, we organize area prayer conferences in boroughs.
It is our hearts desire to see church leaders and their congregations worshipping and praying together for their
localities. Our aim is to support and encourage what is already happening in the boroughs.
Our Responsibilities
1. Intercessors are encouraged to take responsibilities for their communities. They are motivated to take this seriously and faithfully before God.
2. God's servants in the borough will be well covered in fervent prayers, not only from their churches and ministries, but also from the Body of Christ in the Borough
3. Help is given to intercessors to identify and link up with leaders of every local church in their borough. This will help in providing specific prayers for them.
4. Each borough is responsible for the smooth running of their prayer wall. This is facilitated by a Borough Co-ordinator who works with the local network of churches and other prayer groups in the borough.
thy watchmen(London) shall lift up their voice,….for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion (London). Break forth into joy,…. Ye waste places of Jerusalem (London): for the Lord has comforted his people and has redeemed Jerusalem (London) ,… the Lord has laid bare His holy arm in the eyes of all nations and the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of the Lord…Isaiah 52: 8 – 10
